"When our daughter Blake was evaluated and diagnosed with the inability to hear, we were not sure what to do or where to turn. We did not know if she would ever say, "I love you Mommy" or "I love you Daddy", let alone be able to yell at her brother for not sharing. We talked to our each other, our families, our friends and silently to ourselves. Plenty of research and conversations with families, friends and colleagues in and out of the medical community left us with the fact that Blake would need surgery for a cochlear implant along with intensive education. During this process we came to learn of the Oral Deaf Education Program at Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center. The Center's mission and goal is to prepare children with hearing loss and hearing impairments to talk and allow them to enter the mainstream whenever they have acquired the necessary skills to compete successfully. There are only eight Moog Centers in the United States and we in Buffalo are fortunate to have one as part of Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center. We were amazed at this hidden jewel located right here in Buffalo, New York. Thank you BHSC for everything you do for our daughter and our family."
