Pediatric Feeding & Swallowing Program

The BHSC Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing Program is available to children of all ages who have difficulty with feeding and/or swallowing.  Feeding and swallowing disorders place children at risk for dehydration, poor nutrition, aspiration (food or liquid entering the airway), pneumonia or repeated upper respiratory infections that can lead to chronic lung disease.  They can also lead to embarrassment or isolation in social situations involving eating.  At BHSC, the evaluation and treatment are completed by a Speech-Language Pathologist that has specialty training in the areas of feeding and swallowing.   Upon evaluation, the caregiver will be provided with goals and recommendations for improving their child's feeding and/or swallowing skills.
