Supplemental Educational Services

If your student attends one of the schools listed below, he/she may qualify for one of Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center’s (BHSC) unique after-school programs at no cost to you through Supplemental Educational Services (SES) funding!

BHSC’s Language to Literacy Program and Computer-Based Fast ForWord Reading Program help students improve their language and reading skills. These two programs are proven to make a difference in student’s pre-to-post test scores and parents and teachers have reported significant improvements in areas like attention, following directions, memory, organization, self-advocacy and reading skills after students have attended. Please click on the links for the Language to Literacy Program and Computer-Based Literacy Programs to learn more about these programs.

Transportation Options:

Bussed one-way from School to BHSC and parents pick up to take home.  Requires parents to request BHSC as drop off location from school.  This option works best for the Fast ForWord Program as it is five days per week.  For early schools, parents must pick up by 4:15.  For late schools, parents must pick up by 5:15.

If your child does not quality for SES funding, these programs may be covered by insurance, scholarships or paid for privately. To apply for SES funding, please complete the SES application and fax to 716-885-4229 or mail to: Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center, 50 E. North St., Buffalo, NY 14203.  APPLICATIONS MUST BE IN BY FEBRUARY 22, 2008.

Once we receive your application, we will contact you with further information. Please contact Lynn Scheuer at 716-885-8871 ext. 289 if you have any questions, would like more information or want to come in for a tour!
