Speech Language Pathologist

Major Responsibilities

The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis, and recommendation for therapeutic intervention for individuals with communication disorders.  In addition, responsibilities include the implementation of an appropriate Speech-Language Pathology treatment program designed to habilitate or rehabilitate the communicatively impaired preschool student. 

Education and experience requirements

1. Current NYS license and registration as SLP/CFY eligible
2. NYS teaching certification as Teacher of the Speech & Hearing Handicapped/Students with Speech-Language Disabilities
3. Certificate of Clinical Competency/eligiblity
4. Excellent knowledge of clinical practices
5. Knowledge of Developmentally Appropriate Practices
6. Adherence to the Code of Ethics established by the American Speech-Language Pathology Program
7.
