School Psychologist

Responsible to

Supervisor of Social Work/Psychology


Major Responsibilities

1. Conduct cognitive assessments for the Center’s Early Childhood Program
2. Resource and consultant to Early Childhood Program classroom staff

Specific Duties

1. Completes ECP psychological and social history assessments
2. Counsels caregivers on their child’s psychological evaluation results
3. Provides professional consultation and assessment to the ECP classroom staff
4. In-service staff on child development and behavioral issues
5. Completes Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavioral Intervention Plans as needed
6. Active role in Social Work Department Case Management team
7. Provides individual and/or group play therapy as needed
8. Participation at parent support group meetings
9. Attendance at all mandatory monthly meetings and staff in-services
10. Any other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Special Requirements

1.  NYS Certified School Psychologist


Experience

1. Graduate degree with school internship experience
